RIVETING COVERAGE ! CLIFF-HANGERS WITH CLIFFS INVOLVED !
By Your Intrepid, Slightly Bewildered, Definitely Underpaid Correspondent, Angelika Courtois
Recently, Journey, yes, “that” Journey, made the arduous pilgrimage to the Himalayas, scaling actual cliffs (hence the headline; I do not lie here, mostly), seeking enlightenment at the ancient “Ministry of Wisery”, where he consulted the Cabinet of Wisenheimers, the greatest minds of our era, to answer the question that has shaken Relay for Life in Second Life 2026 to its very mesh foundation:

Should a feral tabby cat propose marriage to a feral chimera cat? Meanwhile, Luna, bless her, was reportedly spotted doing recon in the back alleys, investigating dumpsters for intel. Or snacks. Possibly both. Journalism respects the hustle.
I, your dedicated correspondent, tracked down “Ela” of the Hope Floaters for comment. After considerable effort, navigating lag, a wardrobe malfunction involving a rogue physics attachment, and what I can only describe as an existential loading screen, I received this exclusive statement:
“Kitty!” Pulitzer. I am ready.
And then there was “Rafe, of the Sugar Skols”, who delivered what may be the most diplomatically magnificent non-answer in the history of Second Life journalism: “While I cannot confirm or deny the existence of a clandestine romance between Luna Odinson and the suspiciously charming JoCat, I can say this: JoCat has yet to formally request her paw from me.”
Reader. I sat down. I needed a moment. Then I needed a Weisswurst and a pretzel, which, as luck would have it, some restaurant had thoughtfully provided.
Brief Interlude: The Bavarian Clarity Meal (because great journalism requires proper nourishment)

There it was. Weisswurst in a blue ceramic bowl, a pretzel the size of a small moon, and a latte macchiato standing tall like a lighthouse in a sea of existential confusion. It is impossible to contemplate love, marriage, or feline diplomatic relations without proper Bavarian breakfast reinforcement. The sweet mustard on the side? That is the dash of profound I promised you. Life is sweet and sharp simultaneously. Write that down.
The Voting Location: Where History Waits in a Field of Daisies
(“Should They Marry?” — Yes, No, and a crystal ball for the indecisive)
I visited the site. I stood in a field of white flowers, confetti raining gently, a cherub hovering overhead with a bow and what I can only hope was a metaphorical arrow. The signage was bold. The stakes were real.
“YES” glowed blue and optimistic on the left.
“NO” burned red and dramatic on the right.
And in the middle, between the archway of cascading greenery and what appeared to be the entire American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life of Second Life fundraising infrastructure (because of course, love “is” charity, when you think about it), a crystal ball whispered: “Can’t decide? Click here.”

I did not click. I am a journalist. Not only that, but I have standards. The YES kiosk had the majority. Of course it did. Everyone loves a love story. Even those of us who develop serious hives at the mere mention of candy hearts and syrup dripping words. I stood. I listened to classical music on YouTube. I let the question “sink in”. And I asked myself the only question that mattered before casting any vote: “What Is Love?” (You were warned.)
Is it the Weisswurst, warm and waiting, served to you by someone who remembered how you like it?
Is it the snow angel standing in a winter wonderland, massive wings spread, luminous and fierce, holding a small dying child against her chest like it is the most precious moment in the world?

Is it the white-haired woman in a lavender robe, leaning toward a ridiculously wonderful, duck-hat-wearing dog with heart emojis floating in the air between them, because she sees something magnificent there? (This picture credit goes to Rex)

Is it two women in white dresses holding hands at an altar surrounded by flowers and a ceiling of living green, while a figure reads from a book in the background, someone bearing witness, making it real?

Is it the ice dragon, wings spread wide in a candy-cane winter fairground, roaring at nothing in particular, because sometimes love is just being precisely what you are, with no apology?

Is it a couple kissing in a purple evening, pink flowers pressed, rose petals scattered at their feet, as if the world itself decorated for the occasion?

Is it a woman in a blue sweater and a black cap, sitting against grey pillows in a quiet room, holding a grey teddy bear, not performing happiness, just resting in it ?

Is it rowing a boat toward a gazebo in bloom, swans on the water, no particular destination, just the going?

Is it children, Dinkies and smolls and tiny ones in purple overalls with frog stickers on their knees, dancing at Nuggets, absolutely convinced the world was built just for them?

Is it the leaves falling from a tree at sunset, water reflecting gold and pink, the kind of silence that does not ask anything of you?

Is it dancing into a new year, “Happy New Year 2026” balloons blurring behind them, leaning into someone in a tweed jacket who leans back?

Is it carrying something carefully, a wooden crate, a package, a gift, a responsibility, with both hands, treating it like it matters?

Is it wearing “Relay for Life of Second Life” on your back and walking forward anyway, because love is also showing up for strangers?

Is it two dark elves in a purple rose courtyard, standing close, not performing romance but simply “present”, because presence is its own language?

Is it two divine, glittering, antlered, bejeweled men existing magnificently in a grey sky, unafraid to be too much, too bright, too adorned, because love sometimes looks like permission to be exactly, extravagantly yourself? (Picture Credit goes to Vyn & Auric)

Is it a mother holding a child who wears a ghost-print vest, on a tropical afternoon with a French bulldog trotting by in the background, because love is also the ordinary Tuesday, the unremarkable moment someone photographs because it felt like everything?

Is it a love for Latex while dancing with a Latex Dog under the red neon lights?

Love is all of these things.
Love is Second Life, where people build entire worlds to inhabit feelings that the first life sometimes does not make room for. Love is the adult who needed a childhood redefined, and found it here, in a smol body, in a safe space, in someone who calls them by a name that fits. Love is the couple who met in pixels and crossed into the physical world, two realities finally touching. Love is years of friendship rendered in screenshot after screenshot, proof that something lasted. Love is … showing up.
Love hurts. Everyone knows that. It is practically the first thing they teach you. But love heals too. Quietly. Stubbornly. In fields of daisies and snowy forests and Bavarian breakfasts and Relay walks and tiny hands and enormous wings.
In Conclusion: The Million Linden Question
April 1st approaches. April Fools Day. “International Cat Month.” The universe has a sense of humor, and it is winking at us.
Gossip has it Journey consulted Oprah’s schedule. Gossip further has it that Jerry Springer expressed interest in a “paternal DNA test result reveal segment.” In the end, I stepped up, among some others like Arabella, to bring you this “love vomit”, as it has been so tenderly described in the coverage until now. I cannot decide if I should hunt Journey & Luna down and deliver them to the Relay Bozzes for appropriate consequences for being in love, or send them both a tiny fruit basket. I will do neither. I will simply sit here, pretzel in hand, classical music playing softly, and wait to see what April brings.
Will there be a wedding? The crystal ball is still warm. And your correspondent, who develops hives at candy hearts and red roses? Voted ! Yes or No? Some secrets are best kept secret.
Disclaimer: Coverage sponsored by nobody, because good journalism is its own reward, and also Weisswurst.
